Katlyn and John

John and I planned a secret elopement for the desert outside of Las Vegas. I work in the wedding industry, and knew I wanted something nontraditional. We were married in front of a natural altar of Joshua Trees in Mt. Charleston. Our officiant read E.E. Cummings’s “I Carry Your Heart,” which happens to be my favorite poem! We celebrated with donuts and champagne! As the sun went down, the shadows on the mountains turned purple and the sky faded to a dusty rose. It was the most spectacular setting we could have ever imagined. I left with many a cactus souvenir in my dress!
